UK train phone signal still mostly doesn't work.

Passengers frequently encounter challenges when attempting to conduct video calls, stream multimedia content, or access social networks during train trips, largely due to the common shortcomings of both mobile and onboard internet services. On 3 June 2026, Ofcom published research covering 24 rail sections across England, Scotland and Wales and urged coordinated action to improve service quality.
