UK SUV buyers ignore pedestrian risk warnings
A new UK study found telling drivers about SUV dangers to pedestrians doesn't stop them buying one. Psychologists at Swansea University led the research, suggesting financial penalties might be needed to reduce large vehicles. Earlier studies show SUVs make adult pedestrians 44% more likely to die if hit, and children 82%.
