People who watch films and television could see changes in competition if regulators decide the planned takeover affects the UK market. Britain's competition watchdog began examining the proposed purchase on Tuesday after finishing an earlier information-gathering stage. A first decision is due by August 7, while Paramount beat Netflix in February to seek control of Warner Bros Discovery for $110 billion.
