UK platforms must block scam adverts under plans

People could see fewer fraudulent adverts online if the proposed rules become law. Ofcom announced the plans on Friday as part of the next stage of putting the Online Safety Act into practice, requiring major platforms to stop scam advertisers, prevent repeat accounts and check legal approval for banking and financial promotions. Fines could reach 10% of global revenue.
