UK ministers were advised not to engage formally with Vantara, the huge private zoo run by Indian billionaire heir Anant Ambani, after it lobbied British officials, documents obtained by the Guardian have shown. The approach came before a UK-chaired meeting this week of Cites, the UN body on endangered species trade, which will examine India's imports. Vantara reportedly holds more than 150,000 animals in Gujarat.
