UK locals tomorrow seen as referendum on Starmer

Voters across England, Wales and Scotland go to the polls on Thursday in the biggest set of UK elections since the 2024 general election, with 25,000 candidates contesting 5,066 council seats. Analysts told Al Jazeera the votes are widely seen as a referendum on Keir Starmer's premiership, with a YouGov poll last month finding 70% of voters thought he was performing badly.
