UK job vacancies fall as wage growth slows to 4.3%

UK job vacancies fell to 712,000 in June, almost half the level recorded in 2022. Private sector earnings growth slowed to 2.9%, leaving average earnings, including bonuses, at 4.3% in the three months to May. Unemployment remained steady at 4.9% in May, presenting a challenge for new Prime Minister Andy Burnham's economic plans.
