UK Ends £45m Girls’ Education Programme Early
Millions of girls could lose planned support for higher education across Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Britain’s government ended the SHEFE programme after only two years, following wider overseas aid reductions, despite saying protecting women and girls remains a priority. It had a £45 million budget and aimed to expand higher education access for 1 million girls.
