UK economy records marginal growth in final quarter of 2025

The Office for National Statistics has revealed that the UK economy grew by just 0.1 per cent between October and December 2025. While production output increased following a recovery at Jaguar Land Rover, the services sector saw no growth and construction contracted by over two per cent. These figures present a challenge for Chancellor Rachel Reeves, who has prioritised economic expansion, particularly as the decline in building activity undermines government housing targets.
