UK defence gets £1 billion for drones, troops
Britain's defence spending plan is being significantly revised, with an extra £1 billion secured for front-line troops and new tech. Defence Secretary Dan Jarvis pushed for the extra cash, shifting focus to equipping soldiers with advanced strike drones and high-speed boats. Elite commando forces will get £500 million of this, especially for operations in the Arctic Circle.
