UK cinemas weigh Meta smart glasses ban over piracy, accessibility concerns

Courts, theatres and pubs have already clamped down on the AI devices after shoppers bought over seven million units in 2025. The UK Cinema Association, a national trade group, confirmed that all large movie chains are deciding how to handle them. Bosses worry about discreet piracy, but Meta warns that venue bans will severely disadvantage blind and low-vision wearers.
