Britain faces its busiest Christmas getaway on record with 24.4 million cars expected on Friday alone, marking peak traffic since records began. UK airports anticipate their busiest festive season ever, with December passenger numbers set to exceed last year's record 22 million. Heathrow alone expects over seven million passengers through its terminals this month. Railway engineering works will compound road congestion, with major disruptions to West Coast Main Line services and London Waterloo closures affecting millions of travelers seeking Christmas destinations.
