The UK braces for up to 10 additional days of relentless rain as meteorologists warn of no immediate respite. The Environment Agency issued 109 flood warnings and 197 alerts across England, citing saturated ground conditions. Reading recorded a historic 25 consecutive days of rainfall, the longest streak since 1908. Forecasters attribute the severe weather to jet stream patterns compounded by North American cold plunges, with South West England seeing 50 percent more rainfall than average.
