UK asks public about social media ban for under-16s
The UK government has started a public discussion about stopping under-16s from using social media. Technology Secretary Liz Kendall said the consultation will find ways for young people to do well with fast technology changes. The government also wants views on restricting addictive platform features, having overnight curfews, and improving age checks. Australia previously stopped children from using platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, and TikTok.
