UK asking prices fall 1% as World Cup and heat distract buyers
The average asking price of a UK home newly put on the market decreased by 1.0% during the four weeks ending on July 11. This decline significantly exceeded the typical 0.2% reduction observed at this point in the year. Property website Rightmove said the men's World Cup and record temperatures distracted potential buyers, who also face high borrowing costs.
