U.S. demands Ukraine approve peace plan
President Donald Trump has put forward a 28-point proposal for ending the war in Ukraine, insisting that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy must approve the terms, which include ceding large territories to Russia and reducing Ukraine’s military capability. Kyiv responds that it is a difficult choice to take. Meanwhile, Russian leader Vladimir Putin has cautiously welcomed the proposal as a basis for peace.
