Two men killed as Cirrus aircraft crashes near M62 in Manchester
Two men perished when a Cirrus SR 20 light aircraft plummeted into farmland near the M62 in Littleborough at 11:00 GMT. The plane, departing Birmingham Airport at 10:00, crashed near Rochdale where a yellow parachute was found caught on an electricity pylon. Greater Manchester Police recovered two bodies and established a cordon for Air Accidents Investigation Branch teams. Authorities confirmed zero ground injuries occurred during the devastating incident.
