Trump promises US help in warm first call with Burnham

Donald Trump has pledged American help to Andy Burnham after their first phone call, held within an hour of the new prime minister taking office. Writing on Truth Social, the president said they discussed North Sea oil, trade, defence and clearing mines from the Strait of Hormuz. Trump had previously dismissed Burnham as extremely liberal and the mayor of a town.
