Trump plan proposes Ukraine gives land to Russia
A 28-point peace proposal, reportedly endorsed by Donald Trump, stipulates territorial concessions from Ukraine. The Donbas region would be ceded to Russia. Ukraine's military would shrink from 880,000 to 600,000 personnel, and NATO membership would be permanently prohibited. Russia would be invited to rejoin the G8 and see sanctions eased in stages, according to the draft proposal. Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk would fall under full Russian control. Frozen Russian assets of $100 billion would finance Ukraine's rebuilding, with the US taking 50% of profits.
