Trump Confirms $1-5 Billion Lawsuit Against BBC Over Panorama Documentary Edit

President Donald Trump confirmed on Air Force One that he will sue the BBC for $1-5 billion next week over a Panorama documentary that edited his January 6, 2021 speech. The BBC apologized for creating the mistaken impression that Trump made a direct call for violent action by splicing together speech segments from nearly an hour apart, but refused to pay compensation. The controversy prompted resignations of BBC Director-General Tim Davie and News CEO Deborah Turness, while BBC Chair Samir Shah maintains there is no basis for defamation.
