Trump allows Nvidia to sell AI chips to China
President Trump announced he will allow Nvidia to sell its H200 AI chips to approved Chinese customers, with the US government taking a 25% cut of sales revenues. The decision ends an effective ban on AI chip exports to China established during the Biden administration. Trump informed Chinese President Xi Jinping about the decision, claiming Xi responded positively. The H200 chip is more advanced than previously permitted chips but not Nvidia's most powerful technology.
