Tropical Storm Bertha brings life-threatening floods to US Gulf Coast

Heavy rain and a "life-threatening storm surge" are forecast for the US Gulf Coast as Tropical Storm Bertha approaches, with certain locations possibly receiving 8 inches of rain by Friday. By Wednesday, the storm, which recorded 40 mph winds on Monday, may arrive in New Orleans, Louisiana. Surges measuring 1-4 feet are anticipated by forecasters in sections of the Louisiana and Mississippi coastlines.
