Travelodge boss resigns after hotel staff gave room keys to domestic abusers

Joanna Boydell stepped down on Thursday following a public backlash over multiple attacks on female guests. In one case last October, reception workers at a London branch let a man into his fleeing partner's room, where he assaulted her. The hotel chain is currently training 12,000 workers and altering its security rules so nobody gets a spare key without the occupant agreeing.
