Thinking Machines launches its first AI model, Inkling

Thinking Machines Lab, founded by former OpenAI executive Mira Murati, has released its first AI model, Inkling, more than a year after the startup began. Inkling is designed to reason across text, images, and audio, balancing cost and performance; it inaugurates a new line of models. The company plans to make money through its developer platform, Tinker, rather than directly from the open-weight Inkling model.
