Thieves executed a 4 minute daylight raid at Paris’s Louvre Museum on Sunday, using a basket lift to reach the Apollon Gallery and smash two display cases containing Napoleonic jewels. Eight pieces were taken, including Empress Eugénie’s diadem and an emerald necklace of Empress Marie-Louise. The intruders fled on motorbikes before police arrived.
