The world bought just 7,000 humanoid robots last year
Only about 7,000 humanoid robots were sold worldwide last year for industrial and professional work, according to the International Federation of Robotics, against roughly 542,000 ordinary factory robots installed in 2024. Many were bought by researchers and firms using them to gather data for training AI. Bank of America still expects 90,000 humanoids to ship this year and 1.2 million by 2030.
