TGI Fridays Shuts Down 16 UK Locations, 456 Jobs Lost

TGI Fridays has closed 16 of its UK restaurants, resulting in 456 job losses. The closures occurred after Interpath was appointed as administrator to Liberty Bar and Restaurant group. Sugarloaf, the manager of the global TGI Fridays brand, purchased the remaining business, saving 1,384 jobs. The casual dining sector experienced a downturn last summer. The remaining 33 locations will continue to operate.
