Tesla Removes Autopilot as Standard Feature in US, Canada
Tesla has discontinued Autopilot as a standard feature in the US and Canada. New vehicles will now come with Traffic-Aware Cruise Control instead. This change affects all new car purchases and notably removes lane-centering (Autosteer) from Model 3 and Model Y trims. It is speculated this move encourages Full Self-Driving (FSD) subscription uptake, with a price increase for FSD anticipated. Full Self-Driving (Supervised) remains available in the US and Canada.
