Tesla joins plan for biggest US virtual power plant
With AI data centres straining the grid, the plan turns millions of home batteries and thermostats into power, no new plants needed. Sunrun, Tesla and Renew Home said on Wednesday they can muster over 16 gigawatts, what they call the country's largest such network. A 'virtual power plant' like this sent Sunrun shares up about 26%, with the firms promising lower household bills.
