Taxing 1,000 wealthiest UK households could raise £10bn annually, academics say.

Academics propose that imposing a minimum 2% levy on households possessing more than £100m in wealth could yield substantial revenue. Such a tax would be imposed on under 1,000 of the wealthiest households in the UK, providing funds for improved public services. Andy Burnham has suggested that a wealth tax could feature in his decade-long strategy for the UK.
