Families could soon receive new advice on children’s screen use, while younger users may face tighter limits on online platforms. Sir Keir Starmer is reportedly preparing to announce restrictions for under-16s after a national consultation on protecting children from harmful material closed last month. Dame Rachel de Souza said 16 and 17-year-olds should also be covered, and ministers are reviewing Australia’s ban introduced in December.
