Starmer tells cabinet past 48 hours destabilising for government
Keir Starmer told his cabinet that the past 48 hours had been destabilising for the government and had a real economic cost for the country. The prime minister also said he was taking responsibility for last week's local election results and for delivering the change he had promised. The intervention came as Starmer rejected calls to set a timetable for his resignation.
