Starmer confirms UK forces assisting defence but not striking Iran

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has confirmed that UK military jets are carrying out protective missions across the Middle East to defend British interests and support regional partners. He stressed that Britain played no role in the recent American and Israeli air raids aimed at senior Iranian leaders. After convening an emergency Cobra meeting, ministers advised citizens against travelling to Israel and urged Tehran to calm rising tensions to prevent a broader regional war amid mounting international diplomatic concern and instability.
