Starmer apologises for donor named football regulator

Keir Starmer admitted making a mistake in approving David Kogan, a Labour donor to his leadership campaign and local party, as head of England’s football regulator. Lisa Nandy, Culture Secretary, faced parliamentary scrutiny for not disclosing Kogan’s donations during the appointment. Starmer accepted responsibility and initiated a review of Downing Street’s recusal policies. Nandy apologised in writing, with no further action taken, while the government faces calls for greater transparency in appointments.
