Shiranthi Rajapaksa, wife of former Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa, has been detained over allegations she misused a state bank donation meant to buy a scanner for a government hospital. A court ordered her held in custody for a week while police investigate. The former bank chief was also arrested and later bailed.
