Small boat arrivals rise to 41,262 in 2025
Home Office data reveals that total asylum requests decreased by 4% to 100,625 last year. Despite this overall fall, the volume of people reaching the UK on small vessels increased by 13%. Officials noted that fewer claimants are currently residing in hotels, with a 19% drop recorded. Top nationalities arriving via this method included people from Eritrea, Afghanistan, and Iran.
