An innocent woman, Joanne Penney, was murdered in a drug gang conflict, leading to life sentences for six individuals. Marcus Huntley, a drug trafficker, was the shooter, while five other individuals were found guilty following two separate proceedings at Cardiff Crown Court. The judge overseeing the case described Penney's death as a life "senselessly taken," stating that she was an "innocent casualty in a conflict over drugs."
