Portugal's World Cup preparations were thrown into disarray by security concerns before their opening match. Security personnel stepped in at their Palm Beach hotel, urging players to return from a private beach area. Coaching staff cancelled the planned beach training, with players instead doing physical exercises indoors, though some players still had a brief swim in the ocean before being called back.
