Scottish prisons must segregate by biological sex

This ruling means trans women, who were born biologically male, can no longer be housed in female prisons in Scotland. Lady Ross, a judge in Scotland's highest civil court, ruled the Scottish government's guidance unlawful on Friday. Campaign group For Women Scotland brought the challenge, arguing prisons must be segregated by biological sex.
