San Francisco to pay $8.7 million in Black worker discrimination settlement

Current and former Black city employees will receive a combined $8.7 million to settle a lawsuit alleging workplace discrimination. The lawsuit, filed in November 2020, claimed Black staff faced unfair pay, promotions, and discipline. About 4,800 employees will share the money, with four main plaintiffs getting $181,250 each.
