Sainsbury's staff wrongly ejected data professional Warren Rajah from its Elephant and Castle store after falsely identifying him as a shoplifter using facial recognition technology. Three employees approached Rajah, checked a mobile phone, and ordered him to leave immediately. The supermarket chain later apologized for the "human error" and offered a £75 voucher as compensation. Rajah slammed the incident as "Orwellian" and "traumatic" after being forced to abandon his shopping while customers watched.
