Sadiq Khan made a peer by Keir Starmer days before he steps down

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has been given a peerage by Prime Minister Keir Starmer just days before Starmer leaves office. Khan will join 25 other new peers announced on Thursday, with Starmer having appointed 66 since taking power two years ago. Sources close to Khan said he wants to focus on his current mayoral term and doesn't wish to be a minister.
