Russia's foreign minister denies Moscow and Beijing are arming Iran
The pushback follows recent claims from Pete Hegseth, the US defence secretary, that both countries are actively helping Tehran. Foreign minister Sergei Lavrov insisted that the ongoing clashes around the Strait of Hormuz are just hurting the global economy. He also warned that the renewed fighting, which started nearly a fortnight ago, helps neither American nor Iranian interests.
