Rogue landlords could lose worst homes to councils, says Burnham
Andy Burnham said landlords renting out the worst homes will be warned to improve them, and councils will find it much easier to acquire those that are not fixed. He compared it to banning food that damages health and said he would legislate if necessary. He also promised a leasehold reform bill before Christmas, saying leaseholders would no longer be squeezed for every penny.
