Rocket Attacks at US Embassy in Baghdad

Katyusha rockets targeted the US Embassy in Baghdad’s Green Zone on Saturday evening, the first time the embassy had been fired on in more than two years - the last strike was in late 2023 amid Iran-aligned militia attacks linked to the Gaza war. The US C-RAM defence system intercepted one rocket; none landed inside the embassy compound and no American casualties were reported. The attack came hours after Iraq’s National Security Adviser pledged to protect all foreign embassies on Iraqi soil.
