Republicans propose $1bn for Trump's ballroom security.
Taxpayer funds could secure Donald Trump’s White House East Wing project, including a new ballroom. Senate Republicans, led by Iowa's Senator Chuck Grassley, released a new package on Monday to fund immigration enforcement and security upgrades. This proposal includes $1bn for security features related to a $400m ballroom, but not for non-security elements of the modernisation.
