Rental e-bikes in Richmond getting number plates to track riders

A third of Forest's 1,500 rental e-bikes in Richmond, west London, will now have number plates to help identify riders. The decision follows years of public concern about dangerous e-bike use, like riding through red lights or on pavements. The plates will bear the same five-digit code already found under the QR code, allowing faster identification of bikes and riders after incidents.
