Ransomware attacks in Europe jump 55% in early 2026
Ransomware incidents across Europe rose by over 55% in the first four months of 2026 compared to the previous year, averaging 171 attacks each month. A new report found that Germany, the UK, France, Italy, and Spain saw nearly 70% of all activity. Many attacks targeted suppliers, affecting multiple customers through a single breach, with one incident exposing over a million people's data.
