Wang Yi, the Chinese foreign minister, gave the warning during a Monday meeting with his Kuwaiti counterpart in Beijing. He argued that the area has reached a dangerous turning point and countries must quickly get back to the negotiating table. The comments follow American threats of major financial sanctions, which prompted Tehran to warn it will shut the Strait of Hormuz.
