Primary schools lose millions in sport funding
Primary schools across England face reduced funding for their sports programmes, causing concern among school leaders. Labour intends to abolish the annual £320m PE and sports premium, replacing it with a new £193m "sport partnerships network" for primary and secondary educational institutions. The new initiative, scheduled to commence in spring 2027, will provide roughly 40% less funding than the current grant.
